In the heart of every soul lies the resilience to overcome the darkest storms, and Sophie's journey is a testament to extraordinary strength in her recovery process. United Foundation became a refuge of hope for Sophie, a woman facing overwhelming challenges due to her psychosocial and intellectual disabilities. Last November, Sophie, a mother of three, found herself on the height of despair, living alone and disconnected from her children due to her disabilities. United Foundation stepped in at a crucial moment, extending a helping hand that ultimately saved Sophie from homelessness.

Sophie's struggle was compounded by her limited capacity to care for her children and maintain stable accommodation. With her NDIS plan running out and the threat of eviction, United Foundation came in to provide the care she needed. This support included tribunal hearings to extend her stay in her home and the stakes were high. Eviction meant a catastrophic situation to her fragile mental health, pushing her two steps backward in her hard-fought journey of recovery and reconnection with her children.

Sophie found solace and support through United Foundation. Sophie’s transformation was evident when she sat on her balcony, engaging in a conversation with a support worker for the first time in almost 2 years. It was a poignant reminder of the transformative power that a compassionate helping hand can go to in supporting a person with complex needs.

United Foundation's intervention did more than just provide a roof over Sophie’s head. It gave Sophie a chance at life.  A chance to experience moments of joy, and find contentment in ordinary, everyday activities. But the battle is far from over. Sophie's path to recovery and reconnection with her children requires continued support.

Your generous support can make all the difference. By contributing to United Foundation, you're not just funding accommodation; you're providing security, stability, and a chance for Sophie off the streets, in a secure home and increasing her chances of recovery and reconnecting with her kids.

Your donation is more than just a financial contribution; it's a lifeline. It’s a promise of a better future for Sophie and countless others like them. Your generosity will help Sophie rebuild her life, reconnect with her children, and rediscover the joy of living without the constant shadow of crisis.

At United Foundation, we want every individual, regardless of life’s challenges, to have a safe space to call home, access to essential support services and just be able to live an opportune life filled with hope and dignity. Please join us in making this vision a reality today. Your gift will mean lives changed, potential reached, and a brighter tomorrow for those who need it most.
